Playing around with a bristle-brush to achieve the background effect and large tentacles of multiple flat colors, this painting came to completion the day before the great solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, and went into my Portfolio right away.
Trying very hard not to bite off more than I could chew, I quickly realized that this architectural and lighting challenge was vexing to say the least. But, in the end, it came together nicely and makes a very nice addition to my Portfolio.
With a respectful bow to the album cover of the same name by the music group “Poco”, here’s the mighty Terrapin of the University of Maryland in all its glory – dated (by mistake) as “2002” (the year of our first Men’s National Basketball Championship).
I became a huge fan of the animated “Paw Patrol” series when my Granddaughter was hospitalized and these two characters would always bring a smile to her eyes.
A very nice covered bridge, one that crosses the South Branch of Gunpowder Falls where the Falls meet Muddy Creek not far from Prettyboy Reservoir, on the grounds of River Valley Ranch located about 7 miles northeast of Manchester, Maryland.
Purely a creation from my mind, I especially like the color blends in this particular painting.
I was kinda searching for a memorable Christmas gift for Grace, my wife and creative consultant.
This finished canvas was signed on 09/08/21, just three days before the 20th anniversary of a day that we should always remember.
